ALTERNATIVE DETERGENTS IN CASE OF EVENTUALITIES

(Ugh! I'm out of laundry detergent, what now?)

The last thing you want to worry about is a mountain of laundry to wash and find out that you've run out of laundry detergent.

RINSE THE BOTTLE

Pour some water into the detergent bottle and shake it up a bit. Repeat this process one more time and you will have enough detergent to wash a load of clothes.

SODIUM BORATE (BORAX) OR BAKING SODA

Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Borate are two detergent enhancers, so if your detergent with water is too weak, add half a cup of one of the two to the bottle, shake well and place in the container of your washing machine.

NON-CHLORINE BLEACH; OXYGEN BASED.

If you are completely out of liquid detergent, use half a cup of non-chlorine bleach, put the powder in the liquid detergent compartment, add a liter of warm water to the compartment and only then turn on the machine. The warm water will help the powder to dissolve and not leave residue on your clothes.

MAKE YOUR OWN SOAP AT HOME

If you have enough time, make your own homemade soap. It's super simple! Mix together the Sodium Borate, Baking Soda and shavings of bar soap. Shave the bar soap into very fine shavings and mix all the ingredients together.

PRODUCTS THAT SHOULD NOT BE USED

There are some products that should not be used in your washing machine. They are:

  1. Dishwasher Detergent

This type of detergent, whether liquid or block, can be very acidic and can damage your clothes. The detergent can also cause bleaching, staining your clothes and leaving residue.

  1. Liquid Detergent, Liquid Soap, Shampoo and Shower Gel

These products can be very sudsy. Even a small amount will produce enough suds to damage your washing machine.

  1. Other Cleaning Products

These products can damage your clothes, fade them and also damage your washing machine.

ALTERNATIVE PRODUCTS FOR WASHING CLOTHES BY HAND

If you only need to wash a few items by hand, you can consider these products below as alternatives:

  1. Shampoo

Baby shampoo is better than other types of shampoo. Just make sure you use one that doesn't contain conditioner. Use a small amount that will be enough and will avoid excess foam.

  1. Bar Soap

Bar soap can also be used and is great for specific stains.

  1. Liquid detergent

Liquid detergent can be used in small amounts. This product foams a lot and can be very difficult to rinse out. Avoid detergents that contain bleach.

  1. Liquid Soap

Choose a liquid soap or bar soap that does not contain conditioner. Use it sparingly to avoid excessive foaming and difficulty rinsing.

Small tips make a big difference in our daily lives, if you don't have time to put these tips into practice. Leave your clothes with us which we will take care of with great care!
